Cineraria maritima
Cineraria maritima – a perennial plant, upright, very branched, grayish woolly stems. It blooms from May to August with yellow flowers. It is grown as an ornamental plant in parks and gardens because of its ornamental leaves and less because of its flowers. It likes sunny places, tolerates semi-shaded areas but in that case loses its silvery shade and the stems and leaves become more greenish. It is resistant to drought4, lower temperatures (up to -12⁰C) and wind. The name of the species maritima comes from the Latin word mare (sea), which denotes its distribution on the coast.
