The mandarin – Chahara
The mandarin – Chahara – belongs to a group of very early varieties and is ripe for harvest in late September and early October. The fruit is large, of good general appearance, flat in shape. The skin of the fruit is yellow-orange in color and of medium thickness. The meat is fine in structure, seedless and very juicy, while the taste is excellent. The disadvantage of this variety is that it can sometimes be swollen, ie, if there is not enough water in the summer, and if receives a lot of water in the early autumn, the skins begin to separate from the fruit. In Zagreb, these fruits are often called “big” or thick mandarins. The variety itself is very popular with buyers and producers, the first being a golden yellow mandarin.
