Pyracantha coccinea
Pyracantha coccinea – an evergreen, spiny bush up to 4 m high. It blooms in May and June, with small, white flowers. The fruits are small, orange-red berries. They ripen in September and October and stay on the bush throughout the winter. It is resistant to drought, frost and urban pollution. Modest in terms of soil type requirements. It can be planted on sloping grounds or as a hedge because it tolerates pruning well.
