Ligustrum japonicum

Ligustrum japonicum – a large shrub or tree that usually grows 1.5-3.5 m in height, but can grow up to 6 m. Its attractive leaves are evergreen. In the spring, small white flowers grow in large bunches and have a pleasant smell. Green berries develop from the flowers, and when ripe in winter, they turn black and usually remain on the tree for most of the year. Extremely tolerant of various soil conditions, a strong, solid plant that requires little care, and because of its rapid growth, requires regular pruning to maintain its desired shape and size. In areas with harsher winters, it is sensitive to frost. Ideal for hedges, planted at 40 cm apart.
