Lagerstroemia indica

Lagerstroemia indica – an ornamental shrub or small tree up to 5 m high. It blooms abundantly and for a long time in the summer, with red, pink and purple flowers. Although it is not adorned with flowers and leaves in winter, it is still beautiful and dominates the garden area like a sculpture, because of its smooth, grey, peeling bark. For its optimal growth and development, it seeks open, sunny positions, but needs to be sheltered from strong winds. In the absence of light, the shrubs elongate and grow irregularly, there is no flowering or it is scarce.
