Olive – Leccino

Olive – Leccino – is originally from Tuscany, Italy and is very widespread worldwide because of its particular adaptability to different agro-ecological conditions. Leccino grows in deep and fertile soils, which in the summer months tolerate drought, making it easy to bear fruit constantly and very well. Therefore, Leccino should be planted in deep soils and must be irrigated. Due to climatic conditions, it can withstand low winter temperatures up to -10 ° C without major damage. Leccino is a variety that ripens early, and regularly produces and delivers quality yield. It is a cultivar that is mostly fertilized, and its good pollinators are: Pendolino, Frantoio and Maurino. It is tolerant to olive cancer and less to peacock spot, but is therefore sensitive to olive fruit fly and olive fruit curculio.
