Laurus nobilis

Laurus nobilis – an evergreen shrub or tree, likes warm and humid climate and grows only in the coastal area (Istria, Kvarner, Dalmatia) up to 400 m above sea level. The leaves are aromatic and used in the kitchen as a spice. Suitable for sunny or semi-shady habitat. It grows slowly, is tolerates pruning well and, because of its well-developed root, protects the soil from erosion. Because it tolerates pruning well, it can be grown in hedgerow form or for making live sculptures.
