Cupressus sempervirens

Cupressus sempervirens – an evergreen tree growing up to 35 m. It is not sensitive to soil type. It is resistant to high temperatures and cold, tolerates drought and is not demanding in cultivation. Two forms are significant:

  • Cupressus sempervirens var. horizontalis – has horizontal branches and a broad conical treetop.
  • Cupressus sempervirens var. pyramidalis – has a dense, pyramidal, columnar treetop that narrows at the top, the branches are upright and adherent.
