The fruits are eaten mostly with the bark, but are also processed into marmalades, syrups, liqueurs. As it tolerates low temperatures, it is grown outdoors in areas with a less harsh climate. It belongs to small and decorative trees, so it can be successfully grown in pots in areas with harsh winters, either in a greenhouse or on the porch. It does not tolerate sudden changes in temperatures. During vegetation, it needs to be replenished every 15 days.
